Yesterday, we were told by the "senate" that anyone who disagrees with the Harper and co agenda is "Evil" "anti-Canadian".
So that would be all environmental groups.
I am thinking their unpublished list also includes any of them Wimmins groupings and such.
Not all foundations, of course, were "evil," Mockler said. "Just some of them."
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation did good work, as did The Rockerfeller Foundation and the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families.
But others were "qualified bad, not to mention ugly, foundations," Mockler said, listing: The David Suzuki Foundation, the Packard Foundation, the Greenpeace International Foundation, the Sierra Club Foundation, the Hewlett Foundation, the Ecojustice Canada Bullitt Foundation, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Tides Canada and the MADD foundation.
But Mike Duffy called upon his years of experience as a broadcast journalist and offered an incisive yet succinct analysis.
"They are all anti-Canadian"
We shall just call him Joe from here on in.
Then there is Woodworth, who wants to "debate" fetal personhood. He plans on invitin' all the "experts" to come and talk about whether 53% of the population can make their own reproductive choices, or whether the state needs to intervene in the uterus's of the nation. He says it's just about the personhood. Um. Yuuuuuuuuup! Totally.
The war on women's reproductive rights is popular in the US right now too.
Down there, they are even trying to take away contraception, or make it really really....no REALLY... hard to get.
The hearing that was held to talk about the religious right to deny women insured reproductive healthcare, only invited Pro-religious interference types. I am sure MP Woodworth, of the Knights of Columbus will be taking notes on that bit of chicanery.
I vote that we sane pro choicers hold our own "debates" at the same time. Like the House Democratic Steering Committee did.
Maybe "Joe" Duffy will retake the airwaves to call us all sluts too. OH! Or Anti-CANADIAN sluts! YA!
Imagine. Not ONE woman, who actually uses birth control was allowed to talk at Issa's little mysogynist bash. Just old men who are not supposed to be having any of the sex anyway. (we shall leave that one alone. This time)
Many states are enacting crazy state rape by machine bills to stop women or shame them into not having an abortion when it is desired or even medically indicated.
But yanno. Arizona!.....They get the prize in this fight against women's reproductive rights.
A proposed new law in Arizona would give employers the power to request that women being prescribed birth control pills provide proof that they're using it for non-sexual reasons. And because Arizona's an at-will employment state, that means that bosses critical of their female employees' sex lives could fire them as a result. If we could harness the power of the crappy ideas coming out of the state of Arizona, we could probably power a rocket ship to the moon, where there are no Mexicans or fertile wombs and everyone can be free to be as mean a cranky asshole as they want at all times! Arizona Heaven!
Imagine that. The employer would be able to actually dictate whether an employee can use birth control.
Hard to think that anyone would think this way anymore, let alone try to enact laws to enable their personal desire to return to the 11th century.
And that, is what they are counting on really. The complete confidence in common sense that Canadians have.
Who have a government that possibly stole an election, that is sitting in a majoritay position, with a rubber stamp senate to pass all the mysoginist draconian stuff they want.
Cannot happen here they say. Nah.
That only works if you make sure that it doesn't.
I am quite sure that many US women of a certain vintage are sitting there thinking to themselves that this was all settled long ago, and are trying to figure out what the hell happened?
As a species, we really are pretty deluded that way. As well as some"political scientists" on twitter.
