Like a bad penny.....

I will always turn up....

I have been away a fair bit.

Couple items:

I experienced a small heart attack. No pain really, just a tightness in the chest and some arm and back pain. I was at work, and drove myself to the emerg. (not the best plan) Ya..... As Dr Prole said. OMG! That's so YOU!
anyhoo. All was fine on the EKG but they ran lots of bloodwork and six hours later the enzymes were elevated. Blah blah.

No going home for you! I was hooked up to machines that go PING!

After a few days of waiting in the hospital, making the nurses absolutely crazy and complaining about the food (Anyone who knows me can imagine how this went. It wasn't actually food, more like reconstituted kibbles'n'bits with less salt. That may be another blog post, I have pictures to share) I was shipped to another hospital for an angiogram.
Now, I don't want to frighten anyone, but that test? Holy shite.
They clamp you to the fucking bed to close the femoral artery afterwards.

Seriously. Totally fucked up.

Good news. My heart is just dandy. No sign of heart disease. YAY! ME!
Bad news, I am just a stressed out git who decided to blow. Stress thing.
I need to get the blood pressure down for good now. The meds make me feel really wonky because I am used to operating in the high ranges.

Anyway. pale lives! MWHAHAHAHAHAA!

I have many holes in my arms, my leg hurts like crap from the angio. I will be home for a while it looks like. Not because of the original issue, but from the fucking test. I lost a few pounds from the lack of food.
And that's my story.
Miss me?

I missed you.

I hope you are recovering. I hope you find a way to bring down your BP.

Maybe you should avoid the news for awhile.

Take care Pale, allow your family to spoil you once in awhile!

I have been watching

Old tee vee shows on the pc and sitting/laying on my couch.

Bored outta my tree, and coping with a lot of pain in the leg.
My oldest daughter has been cooking for us, with direction. They have all been amazing.
But, I am a terrible patient. LOL.
All ok with you?

It's a fact: 100% of all the people who ate carrots in 1850, are dead.

Sorry to hear that

Wow, that does sound scary. Better get some rest. Perhaps you're due for a vacation.

Something similar happened to me recently. I was waking up with chest and back pains about 1 week after I had quit smoking. The doc did chest x-rays (lungs are fine for a middle-aged smoker), ECG and an ultra-sound which came out fine too. They told me I was suffering from withdrawal symptoms of nicotine & sent me home with anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds, which I haven't touched as of yet.

Glad that you're back.

oh be careful with that hey?

Anxiety can cause some weird stuff.

I could have passed the whole time in the hospital in a drug induced coma.

Mind you, they really just wanted me to STFU about the food. Hehehe.

Take care, and good luck with the nicotine.

Welcome back !!

Hi Pale...I'm sorry you had such a scare, but I'm glad it all worked out well, and by dealing with your blood pressure now, you can avoid problems later. I'm afraid I had my first heart operation when I was a child, but at least at that age the hospital food seemed excellent... ;)

Ya. lucky

Heart disease is a family thing. I am really lucky.

How are you now? No problems?

Yes, the food has most def gone downhill. Big corporation does it now. Shit wages, shit food.
I do not blame the workers. They are just taking the jobs that are here and trying very hard.
Sodexo. Really frightening company. Reminds me of a yes men con.

Welcome back, pale!

You definitely need to expose the shoddy food service. Like Simon said, it wasn't that bad before. I remember the days that the hospital cafeterias offered a more than above average meal.

Anyway, so glad you are on the mend.

I am really looking at it.

I mean, I have eating disorders, I cook for my work and I am picky.

I also have some real and awful intestinal stuff going on that should be under consideration at all times.
What they served me....OY.
And yanno, if Lhomme hadnt been sneaking me sandwiches and salads (as well as taking care of the kids AND working) I would have been a lot worse off.
I cannot imagine not having anyone to bring things to eat.

Y'all know that L'homme is a keeper eh? :)

Ya, I'm good...

Thanks for asking.

Like sister sage, I have had anxiety events that sent me scurrying to the clinic thinking they may be heart related. Except, I haven't even tried to quit smoking...

Hospital food. How unfortunate. Here in Victoria, our hospitals have huge, empty kitchens, because our "government" prefers not to pay union wages for fresh food. Instead, I think they contract it out to the same people in Calgary who make the airline "food".
